My research focuses on education, inequality, and policy from a sociological perspective, using administrative data.
My doctoral work, Education and compensation, asks how different features of education systems may mitigate or exacerbate differences within and between socioeconomic groups. I assess what features may compensate, for whom, and how these compensatory features may shape future outcomes.
Outside my own work, I follow debates in metascience: how research is actually done, and how it might be done better.
